Denim on Denim!

Hello all! Happy partly sunny hot summer Thursday North Easterners and of course everyone else!! If  you follow me on Instagram, you know I was away in the Sunshine State, Miami!! Took a couple days off to spend some time with the girls and relax. Sun, sand, ocean water, bikinis, free breakfast, fish bowl drinks, partying 'till the sun comes up and hot bodies :-), among other things lol to name a few. Oh how I miss thee already, but reality must resume at some point! Sooner than later i'll be posting about my time there. Any who, Here's an outfit from a weeknd where the temps were not too hot, not too cold. What happened to those days?! But I will not complain because it can be snowing for 3 days straight instead. lol Ive always loved the denim on denim look; from denim sets to randomly paring denim items together. It started as a kid, so blame my mom for the madness. Here, I decided to pair dark wash faded denim with light wash bleached out denim. Paring the two with a little color to brighten the look. Thought the knot in the top would add a little sex appeal while still keeping the look simple and fun.

Rusty Green

Hello all!! Happy Hump Day!! How's everyone's week been so far?! Whether good or bad, the week is almost over! Any who, wore this a few weekends back, and didn't have a chance to post it. It was a nice, breezy Spring day, hence the jacket lol. Just wanted a simple, comfortable look for a day of shopping. :-) One of my fave tops from H&M and fave jeans from mandee, along with my saddle shoes which I love so much! :-) The top and jeans fit so well Wanted to add a complimentary color to the distressed look in the jeans and topped it off with the rust.

Dirty Circle Red Carpet

Hello all!! I recently attended a friend's Red Carpet Event. The event was for his second book, The Dirty Circle, now on its way to the big screen! Yes, the book will be turned into a movie! Round of applause for Quash! Any who, even though it was red carpet, it was kind of formal/semi formal. I had no clue what to wear, so, when in doubt, stand out! I had purchased this dress many many years ago from Joyce Leslie and NEVER wore it. You guys remember that era when the pouf frame dresses were popular?? lol I thought this would be the perfect time to put this dress to work. Original idea was to accessorize with red shoes and dark jewelry, but I opted for black shoes and mixed color jewelry and a soft red lip. Kept everything soft and classy! :-)

P.S. excuse the pearls missing from my necklace. I forget every time, but I love this necklace so much I can't help but to wear it!

The Royal Navy

Hello all!! How was everyone's Memorial Weekend? Did you guys go anywhere? How did you celebrate the opportunities we are afforded today because of those who fought and still fight for us? I spent some time with my family in the South, its always good to catch up with them and reminisce and meet new people/family members lol.  Such a coincidence that this post is Memorial Day color inspired, minus the red, but it was not a Memorial Day fit.

Love these skinny jeans from H&M, especially the color, but also the fit of them. Decided why not pair them with a darker blue blazer for a little color blocking. To balance out the blues, I added a simple white tank from Forever 21 for about $1.80. Best priced tanks! lol Odd, but kind of just noticing the stripes from the inside of the blazer match my footwear, totally unintentional. Another fave of  the trends, are my saddle shoes. Even if they go "out of style" I will still rock them. There you have it, simple, chic and casual. :-)

Don't forget to order your Chuck- Chucks! ??

Shown on the Blog here!

Flower Power!

Hello all!! How are you guys?! What's been going on since we last caught up?? I see a lot of you guys are posting some really good stuff: color combos, accessories, beauty tips & etc! I have to get back into the swing of things. I'm a little off, everything is moving so fast, I feel like I can't keep up with the day to day. Any who, Finally got to wear this beauty and by beauty, I am referring to my blazer. lol Spring/Summer 2013 floral blazers were all the rave, but I just couldn't find one that I loved. Until one day when this one in particular called out to me. lol No clue why out of all the floral blazers, I turned my nose up to all of them, except for this one. Im guessing, it's the flower shape(s) and the color mixture of blue, pink and purple. Any who, another good thing, I got for $32.99, but the next week my friend saw it on sale in another location for $10.87, SCORE! Everything worked out perfectly, paid a good price for a floral blazer I LOVE! :-)

P.S. Excuse the pics, I had bad lighting again! Working on getting better photos for you guys!
