Aztec & Denim

Hello all!!  Happy Monday!!  How was everyone's weekend?? Mine was okay, no excitement really, besides Walmart lol. But who doesn't love a good Walmart run?! Any who I've had this skirt for a while now and have been dying to wear it. My original "idea" was similar but called for different temps. Once the weather got warmer I had to revamp the look a little bit. I'm a big fan of the Aztec print, but as usual I can never find colors and/or patterns that catch my eye. Something about myself, trends and colors/patterns, such a weird habit. Lo and behold, a blue one made the cut and thought it would be perfect with a washed out denim shirt. Might I add, the skirt was on sale! Added some layer to the look with a metallic copper jacket, which I had for some years now from Mandee. I feel like the jacket gives it the contrast between the monotonous blue tones. Walah, something old with something new to create a great fit! :-)

Flower Power!

Hello all!! How are you guys?! What's been going on since we last caught up?? I see a lot of you guys are posting some really good stuff: color combos, accessories, beauty tips & etc! I have to get back into the swing of things. I'm a little off, everything is moving so fast, I feel like I can't keep up with the day to day. Any who, Finally got to wear this beauty and by beauty, I am referring to my blazer. lol Spring/Summer 2013 floral blazers were all the rave, but I just couldn't find one that I loved. Until one day when this one in particular called out to me. lol No clue why out of all the floral blazers, I turned my nose up to all of them, except for this one. Im guessing, it's the flower shape(s) and the color mixture of blue, pink and purple. Any who, another good thing, I got for $32.99, but the next week my friend saw it on sale in another location for $10.87, SCORE! Everything worked out perfectly, paid a good price for a floral blazer I LOVE! :-)

There is Light at the End of the Tunnel

Hello all!! How are you guys?? How is Spring treating everyone so far? Good I hope! Any who, finally posting this outfit from about a month ago. I wore this the end of March to my cousin's surprise Birthday Dinner Party. Yaaay for birthdays parties!! :-) This dress was originally for   my birthday night out, but I ddi things that didn't involve this fit in particular. lol I was glad when i finally got t wear it because It was like at first site. You may notice it has loops on the side for a belt, but I decided not to use it; thought it looked better without. I kept with the color scheme of the dress with my accessories using gold, black and pearl tones. To my surprise, the accesroes stood out, instead of blending in, which was a plus!


P.S. My lighting was not the best this day, so excuse the pics in advance. :-) And I think I forgot earrings for the "shoot", but I did have on a gold hanging pair.

Sweet Sweet Coral

Hello all!! How are you guys?! Long time no blog! I've missed you all!! Happy Be-lated Easter!! How was everyone's Easter and weekend? Great I hope. Any who, Spring brings about nice, soft colors, which we all know well as pastels. lol In with the season's trend, here we go! :-) I can't say the enough, I love browns and tans with a pastel or bright color. With That being said, this was a last minute, with little, quick thought, put together before you're late for work outfit. Walah! I think I my fit for the day. Pearlesque accessories to pop from head to toe with the shoe and the shoe, to offset the pant.

Taraji P. Henson Spices up the Cover of Upscale!

Hello all!! Look who's adorning the cover of Upscale! We haven't seen Ms. Henson on a cover in a while, but she's back and you don't want to miss it!

Taraji is 40plus, fabulous and loving it! A few days ago she shared with some photos with of from this very shoot on her Instagram.  In case you forgot or didn't know, she let us know she still got it!!

The beautiful actress has finished up her CBS role on ”Person of Interest” but she has been staying on her grind by working on films like Think Like A Man Too and an upcoming movie called Term Life. Two other movies are also in the works, currently in post-production. Go head Ms. Henson, keep them wheels going!!
